Foreign Languages

Two students from Ami Christensen's "U.S. Culture and Institutions" class recently entered and placed in the 2013 WITESOL (Wisconsin Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) Writing and Art Contest, which was open to students whose instructors are members of WITESOL. The theme for this year's contest was "Who is/are your hero(es) and what makes them a hero in your eyes?" Brice-Henri Tribollet, a UW-Eau Claire student from Switzerland, placed third in the adult writing category for his essay, "More Than a Mother." Hyeonseo Lim, a student from South Korea, placed first in the adult art category for her piece, "The Speakers." Both students received a copy of the winning pieces in each category, a certificate and a small cash prize.
